Follow in the Footsteps

Great church marketing - haven't been for services, but can definitely
connect to the uniform requirements.

Welcome to the Search for Church

Welcome to a community blog for people who (think they may) have found a God (you can use what ever word you want to convey your sense of a loving higher power, spiritual force, supreme other, etc), and like hanging out with the loving God of their understanding, but also want a fun creative experience of searching for their next best church (or spiritual practice space.) or a spot to wade in to the spiritual stream and go with the flow. We know, you know.

Think about it? What if you only ever tried one gym (the first one you ever went to, or worse, that your Mom & Dad took you too when you were 3) or you kept going to the first coffee shop that you ever tried? Nothing wrong with that, of course, we dont judge, but we also know that same ol' can become lame ol.

While, you may love the experiences you had there, but some day you might also want to explore a little more. We think we know that feeling, especially as it applies to finding a spot (we call that a church, but can imagine that it might be many other types of venues) to meet with other spiritual beings and celebrate our respective sense of a loving God and a stream that quenches our respective thirst for some God shots.

So, we have started this little blog called "the search for church" to have fun, help raise awareness of our searches and some churches, announce our new discoveries, to articulate the range of good and not so good trade offs or traded ups, to be a place to discuss and advocate for the "best" churches around where we live (which is currently Los Angeles, CA but we are all world travelers and hope to broaden the scope of our discoveries to include the entire planet, especially hip fun cities like Austin, NYC, Miami, Portland, SFO, Vegas, and Madison, WI)

As you can imagine, the definition of "best" church is about as infinitely expansive and flexibly fun and hopefully creative, as the personal definitions of a loving God. its personal and universal, totally unique and absolutely universal. Have fun!

We think that the destination of life is not an end point or place, but the creative expression that unfolds as we make our way on the journey. Similarly, the Search for Church is not so much about finding "the church" that rules and schools all the others, but the creative expression, the insights and relationships that are formed and experienced as we make our ways in the universe together as spiritual beings having a human trip. See ya.
